With over 20 years of international experience spanning sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, FMCG, and Pharmaceuticals, Maha Anwar brings extensive expertise in business-to-business and business-to-government contract negotiations, project management, commercial contracts, and compliance. She has worked with multinational corporations, including Johnson & Johnson, GSK, and BG Group, as well as with one of Egypt’s leading law firms, playing a key role in navigating complex, high-stakes legal and commercial matters.
In her recent roles as Legal Counsel, Maha provided strategic legal support not only in Egypt but also across Jordan, Libya, and East Africa. Her achievements include successfully negotiating resolutions to potential disputes with distributors in multiple countries and ensuring compliance with sanctions legislation, particularly during the supply of pharmaceutical products to conflict zones.
Prior to this, Maha held key legal positions at GSK and BG Egypt, where she managed large-scale projects and complex negotiations. Her responsibilities included drafting and negotiating toll manufacturing agreements and providing legal counsel on concession agreements and government dealings. Her work has been pivotal in advancing critical initiatives in both the pharmaceuticals and energy sectors.
Maha holds an LLM from Indiana University and a law degree from Cairo University. She is fluent in both English and Arabic, with working proficiency in French, and offers deep expertise in corporate law, project development, and regulatory compliance.
